This is a communication from a debt collector. This is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.
Why you were contacted
A business retained us to recover an unpaid obligation, or to enforce a judgment a court has already entered. We are a private company working on behalf of that creditor. We are not a government agency, we are not a court, and we are not a law firm.
How to verify this communication is genuine
Debt collection is a common cover for fraud. You should confirm any communication before providing information or making a payment.
Call us directly at [PHONE] during [HOURS].
Use the number on this page rather than a number given to you over the phone. A representative can confirm whether a letter or call actually came from us and tell you what the reference number relates to.
Your rights
Most of what we pursue is commercial — money one business owes another — and federal consumer collection law does not apply to those obligations. But if the obligation arose from a personal, family, or household transaction, federal law gives you specific rights, including the right to request validation of the debt, the right to dispute it, and the right to restrict how and when we contact you.
We do not require you to establish which category your obligation falls into before we will respond.
If you request validation, dispute the obligation, tell us we have the wrong party, or ask us to change how we contact you, we will honor that request on any account — commercial or consumer in origin. Sorting out the legal classification is our job, not yours.
A fuller explanation is available on our Notice Recipient Rights page.
How to recognize a legitimate payment request
We will never ask you to pay by any of these methods:
- Gift cards
- Cryptocurrency
- Wire transfer to an individual
- Cash App
- Venmo
- Zelle
Anyone demanding payment by these methods in our name is not us. We also will never threaten arrest, claim to be calling from a court, or state that law enforcement will be sent to your home or business. No collection agency has that authority.
Submit a request or dispute
Submissions are recorded with a timestamp and a reference number. You will receive a written acknowledgment.
Complaints and escalation
If you are dissatisfied with how we have handled your account, contact our compliance department directly.
You may also contact your state attorney general or the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov/complaint. Contacting a regulator does not affect how we handle your account.
