Who we are
State Entity Recovery Group LLC recovers money owed to businesses by other businesses. We work two kinds of file: commercial claims, where a business is owed on an invoice, contract, lease, or line of trade credit; and judgment enforcement, where a creditor already holds a court judgment that has gone unsatisfied.
We are retained by creditors and compensated on recovery. We do not purchase debt for our own account.
Investigation first
Most uncollected commercial debt is not uncollected because the debtor cannot pay. It is uncollected because no one established what the debtor actually holds, or because the creditor spent money on escalation aimed at nothing.
We investigate before we escalate. That means establishing whether the debtor entity still exists, who controls it, whether it has continued under a successor name, and what it appears to own — before recommending that a client spend anything on court process. When a file is not worth pursuing, we say so rather than generating activity.
Our compliance posture
Commercial collection sits outside the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which governs debts incurred for personal, family, or household purposes. That does not leave us unregulated. The FTC Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act's permissible-purpose rules, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, state collection agency licensing, and state unfair-practices statutes all apply.
Where we enforce a judgment that originated as a consumer obligation, we handle that account under full FDCPA requirements regardless of the fact that the target may be a business entity. The character of a debt is fixed at origination and does not change based on who is pursued for it.
