Company Disclosure

We are a private company retained by businesses to recover money owed to them. Our clients are creditors — companies that are owed payment on invoices, contracts, leases, and other commercial obligations, or that hold judgments a court has already entered in their favor.

We are compensated by those clients, generally as a percentage of amounts actually recovered. We have no independent claim against anyone. Our authority to contact a debtor derives entirely from the creditor who placed the account with us.

• We are not a law enforcement agency and we have no police powers.
• We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice or representation.
• We are not a credit bureau or consumer reporting agency.
• We do not purchase debt for our own account.

Our authority is limited to communicating with a debtor about an obligation on behalf of the creditor who retained us, investigating the debtor's assets and corporate structure through lawful public and permissible-purpose sources, negotiating resolution within the settlement authority our client has granted, and referring an appropriate file to licensed counsel with our client's approval.

The following are stated explicitly because they are the powers most often falsely claimed by parties impersonating collection firms.

• We cannot arrest anyone or cause anyone to be arrested. Non-payment of a commercial debt is not a crime.
• We cannot garnish wages or levy a bank account. Those remedies require a court judgment and a separate court order obtained through licensed counsel.
• We cannot seize property. We do not repossess, padlock premises, or remove assets.
• We do not issue warrants, subpoenas, summonses, or court orders. Any document appearing to be one of these and bearing our name is not from us.
• We cannot reach a company's assets to satisfy an individual's personal debt without a court finding of alter ego, successor liability, or fraudulent transfer.
• We do not appear in court or file anything with a court. Licensed counsel does that.

We are aware that the words "State Entity" in our name may read as governmental. They are not intended to, and they do not describe any governmental status, charter, or authority. The name refers to the multi-state scope of the commercial obligations we pursue and to the business entities that owe them.

Because the potential for confusion exists, we disclose our private, non-governmental status in our website footer, on every communication we send, and on this page.
